Nicotiana alata produces a profusion of fragrant, trumpet-shaped, red and white blossoms which sit on a stem arising from a rosette of thick, velvety leaves. After sundown the perfume of its one inch jasmine scented flowers are absolutely intoxicating. It flowers endlessly all summer into fall. The foliage itself of this plant is also very pleasing with 4-6" dark green leaves clustered at the base of the flower spikes.
Nicotiana alata will grow to about 3 feet tall, which is shorter than many Nicotiana varieties. Easy to grow and virtually maintenance free - no deadheading and seldom bothered by pests - all they need is water and sun.

Sowing instructions

Plant seeds surface and push them slightly onto the soil. Mist them every day to keep the soil moist. Germinate at 70-75 degrees after 14-21 days.
